Weekend Instant Mix Vol. 15: Halfway Crazy Update

We recently made a couple of computer updates to enhance our blog. First, we rolled out the Yahoo Media Player for a test drive yesterday. It plays all the songs on the page without stopping after each track like the old player did. It also floats over the page, so it stays out of the way while you're reading the posts. It's pretty slick and we're happy to make it a permanent fixture.

Last month, we also moved to a new file server. It has no bandwidth restrictions unlike our old one, which caused some player and download disruptions during heavy periods like on our weekend mixers. It's also bigger to provide extra space we needed.

This gave us a chance to scan our iPod for favorite songs we hadn't had the file space to post before. So, as we near the end of the first half of the year, we thought it was a good time to compile all those loose ends in one great playlist. Click on the first song and you'll see the new media player in action. You can skip tracks or go backwards in the mix right in the media player controls. Give it a try!

Before we go, we wanted to mention we're presenting our 20 Best Songs of the 2nd Quarter next weekend. So be sure and check back then, it's another preview of the year end 100 Best Songs of 2009.
