Quick Brew Review: The Dutchess & the Duke "Sunset/Sunrise"

The Dutchess & the Duke
Sunset/Sunrise
Release Date: October 6, 2009
Label: Hardly Art
Vocals, Guitar: Jesse Lortz
Vocals, Guitar: Kimberly Morrison
Producer: Greg Ashley

KEY TRACKS:

Seattle's childhood friends Jesse Lortz and Kimberly Morrison have such undeniably rich vocal harmonies and wonderful guitar interplay, it's hard to find fault. Their debut album last year was satisfyingly raw in it's lo-fi early Stones sound. Here they utilize more instrumentation and up the production value. Some of the novelty of old may have sanitized away, but their songwriter and vocal duets are still top notch. It's the kind of album perfect for reflection on a rainy Sunday in Seattle.
