Brewing: Early 2010 Albums Slated
"Brewing" is a new recurring feature to let you know what's ahead in new music releases. We've had some information filter out recently about new albums due out in early 2010. It's shaping up to be a good start to the new year.
One of our all-time favorites Spoon is also coming out with a new album in January on the 25th (UPDATE) 19th. Their seventh album will be called Transference and will be the first full length release since 2007's awesome Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. No album art is available yet. It will be released by Merge Records.
Grammy nominated English electronic band Hot Chip's fourth album will be called One Life Stand. It's due out February 8th on EMI records. No cover art is available for this one yet, but here's the track list and new single below.
Finally, the always interesting Brooklyn band Yeasayer will be coming out with their second album Odd Blood on February 9th. The album will be released on the Secretly Canadian label. No cover art is available as yet either, but here's the track list and new single.
Let's begin with the sophomore album from Vampire Weekend, which features the new single Cousins just released today. This track, along with the first single Horchata, will be on the highly anticipated Contra scheduled for January 12th. At right is the cover, which kept us guessing awhile back when it ubiquitously showed up around the net without any text or explanation. It will be on XL Recordings.
