Not many people will argue this Austin band is one of the most talented bands going today. 2007's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga was their most produced and best selling album to date. Not known to cater to the marketplace, they went back to basics here. It's a minimalist approach with half the songs culled from demos. It taps the rawness of 2002's classic Kill The Moonlight with less studio effects. It illustrates the fact that Brett Daniels and company could create fine tunes in their sleep and needing little production wizardry. Some might accuse them of coasting here, but this vintage Spoon is certainly an enjoyable ride.
