WUASTM Top Twenty Tracks For W/E Feb 12th

Four new tracks enter the chart this week and last week's runner-up takes the top spot. Charlotte Gainsbourg's time is now for top track Greenwich Mean Time off her Beck produced IRM.The biggest gain from last week was Effortlessly made by UK's Field Music from their album Field Music (Measure) releasing Tuesday. Greenwich, the one in New York, is home for Phantogram with their new track When I'm Small on the just released (in the U.S.) Eyelid Movies. Rogue Wave shot a second track at the chart with Solitary Gun, the opening cut from Permalight due March 2nd. Another NY band Sleigh Bells has the unreleased demo track Infinity Guitars, which should be on their debut release later this year. The last newcomer is Toronto composer Owen Pallett and his song Lewis Takes Off His Shirt from the acclaimed new album Heartland. Check back for that review next week.

Before we get to the chart, we want say a word about all the blogs Goggle recently axed. It's a shame to see some great music sources silenced in such a knee jerk reaction. We can feel their pain, since we started out there and moved to our own site after the frustration of having a number of our posts deleted without warning. But, wholesale erasing these sites and their history was a heinous act. These blogs, like us, walk a fine line sometimes to get music approved in an attempt to promote artists we care about. We wish all those blogs well and hope to see them back soon with a better home.
